How It Works

This weekly-themed challenge runs from Wednesday through Sunday at midnight. The only requirement to play in Wednesday Quotes is that you find a quote or quotes about the theme (a song counts) and respond to it with at least one photo, a meme, a short story, a personal story, or a poem. Then link it to my post.

You are welcome to contribute a link to your post after the deadline, but it might not appear on the week’s list of links.

Why Quotes?

During our first year of WQWWC, we explored topics of character building and emotions as well as basic holiday topics.

The next year WQW expanded on the most popular topics from the first year: fitness, communication, travel, vacations, weather, and friendship.

At the suggestion of Marilyn Armstrong AKA Serendipity, Seeking Intelligent Life on Earth, this year the name changed simply to Wednesday Quotes. It’s the perfect contrast for a popular photo challenge, Wordless Wednesdays.

Exploring New Topics for WQ

To find the perfect topics that will challenge both photographers and writers, I poured over old topics from the Word Press Weekly Photo Challenge as well as the list of the 2023 holidays and made some modifications. Even though the topics are listed here for the entire year, I may switch things up, if something more compelling comes along.

Once a month, the new WQ topics are aligned to Sunday Stills Color Challenges for the year. The first six months’ colors are listed.
