Happy February 19th. I wasn’t going to post today, but Terri’s challenge to post frosty pictures this week for Sunday Stills was compelling. There are always lots of pictures and others who share when you click on her site.
Don’t forget to visit Photos by Johnbo’s Cell Pic Sunday. The photos today were mostly cropped or sharpened in Lightroom, but most are cell phone pics except the train and dental chair.
I’ll be linking with Natalie’s Weekend Coffee Share this week on Friday.
On the Prescott Home Front
Selling a home these days is all about staging. As we prepare to sell our condo in Prescott, we moved my office so that it looks out of a cheerful window instead of being tucked into a dreary room. A couple of years ago, on March 2, this was the view outside the window. Brrr

Look outside
Frosty has been here
Ignore cold
See beauty
Sun shines brightly behind clouds
Zip up your sweatshirt

I'd rather stay home.
My car's stuck in the snow
I'm stuck in the wrong biome.
And my boss doesn't know.
Nobody's shoveled the driveway or street
I might slip and fall down the stairs.
Snow hides holes in the concrete.
Besides my boss, wife, and dog, who cares?
So, what would you do on a day like today?
Drink hot chocolate, eat cookies?
Head outside to play?
Or plow your way out of a day at ease?

Rhyming poetry
I’m obviously not the narrator in the poem. I love being retired, working from the comforts of home at my cozy desk – wherever I am.
Dan invites us to brighten each other’s days with RED for CFFC. Here is a great picture to transition from frosty to red. ๐

Our dog used to love walking over this little bridge to the park, but something scares her now. Her tail is between her legs the whole way, and she jumps at every sound.

While I’ve been in Prescott, I got caught up on routine medical appointments: repairing a lost filling – without Novocaine – and my annual eye exam. Both the dentist’s and optometrist’s chairs are more comfortable since this one was built, but they are not this pretty.

Speaking of pretty, trains have changed a bit, too. Trent wrote a great post about changes in technology that I found interesting yesterday as I caught up on blogging.
Next week, I will combine the joy of being with Arizona blogging friends, the not-so-fun radioactive MRI and CT scans, and a visit to my favorite surgeon for a six-month checkup. As I think about Scottsdale, I remember these red beauties were in our yard at our condo there.

The bright reds are so cheerful against all the winter white. Yes, stay inside if you can, be safe outside when you can’t. I hope your check up goes well, my friend. โค โค โค

Thank you, so much! I’ll let you know once the test results come in. It’s always a little unnerving to have to have tests done. Especially knowing that breast cancer is a beast! ๐

I hope all goes well. My husband is on the 6-month testing cycle now. Another year and he’ll be declared cancer-free. Crossing my fingers for both of you!

Great burry shots and poems Marsha! Iโd never leave the house. Staging makes all the difference for sure! Yikes no meds for the teeth! Sending good wishes for clean tests!!!๐

Thanks on all fronts! BTW You donโt need meds to replace simple fillings unless you are super sensitive.

You’re so welcome. Oh man I would take the meds but had 4 babies with nothing.. lol

Something in between. Perhaps a 500- 1000 words. I still have to work on it.

Such a nice post – as I sit here on a chilly winter february day – I liked your prose about the snow and cold.
I really liked the photos too, especially the “Transition bridge from frosty to red” because it had such an “anywhere USA” mood and almost reminded of Vermont, then mid-west… etc. And I wonder why your dog has that bit of trepidation while crossing it now…. hmmmm

Me, too, Janet! I’m glad I’m coming a day early. It makes a lot more sense than trying to crowd so much into one day.

I’m loving your frosty photos and poems from my warm office, and thinking about the snow outside and that I’ll have to venture out in it to work tomorrow. :sigh: The red photos are all so cheery – I especially love the vintage dentist chair! Hope your medical appointments all go well and that you’re having a lovely week!

Thanks, Kym. Red is one of my favorite colors, and it works so well in photographs. I have3 appointments down and 2 to go. Then, hopefully a reprieve for another 6 months or so. Yay!

Hot chocolate and cookies would be nice on a week like the one we’re having, Marsha. You did a great job on the prompts, especially CFFC. Well done.

Aww, you romantic guy. That’s the first thing that comes into a woman’s mind in the month of Feb when you mention red. I say that, and none of my pictures are romantic red, LOL! My husband is much more romantic than I am – and he will tell you so!

Gorgeous images of all things frosty and beyond, Marsha! Love that pop of red of the fence in the snow scene. Your poetry is always on point and so descriptive! We’re getting snow today but its pretty warm (haha) to actually stick. I don’t envy the task of staging your home for sale, but you and Vince are pros at this. I have some news related to this…I’ll call you!

I actually like to stay home – until I don’t. Like a kid, I spend way too much time entertaining myself with my computer – blogging, writing, playing puzzles, etc. I wonder if I need a real life and some snow to get me outside taking pictures. But no, it’s so warm inside. ๐ xxx Thanks for stopping by, Denise.

I know where I could get you a nice one. It might be kind of pricey! Of course, going to the dentist is pricey these days. I had a tiny filling replaced. He wanted to replace a chip in the filling of the adjacent tooth. The total cost for two tiny fillings was $525. No Novocaine even! It took only about 1/2 hour, maybe 3/4 hour. I decided that the tiniest chip on the adjacent filling could stay there for a few more years. By that time, it will probably cost $525 for one tiny chip rather than two. Better to buy your own chair.

It isn’t often, Miriam. That was two years ago. We’ve missed the snow here so far. We will only be here another month or so. We might miss the snow altogether.

That’s the plan now. We have quite a bit to do here in AZ, and I have dr. appointments as well. I hate to miss the spring there. It is so beautiful.

Odd about your dog being so frightened. I just got back from walking with my dog though knee deep of ice encrusted snow – yikes, but he wanted to go through it. The old red locomotive is a lot cooler than the old read torture device, I mean dentist chair. Thanks for linking with my post ๐

You’re welcome. I enjoyed that article so much. Knee deep snow for you sounds very deep for the dog. It would be over my dog’s head. She’s only about calf high.

Fiyero is a boxer, and tall and lanky for the breed, but still… The problem was that Fiyero tried to walk on the crust but would sometimes fall through and sink to his chest. In the end, we were 2/3 of the way across (across = over a wooded hill, around a pond, across a big field and down a large hill), and he turned around and followed the path I had cut. I got in front of him and cut it wider and deeper, so a lot of work for me!

It sounds like it. I like my paths paved or at least gravel, dirt, or stone – like Sedona. No underbrush or sinking!
