Snow to Rain in Prescott, AZ – Week Two

Spring surprises

This morning when I went out to take pictures of flowers in the neighborhood, I first ran into my neighbor sleeping in her running car. She'd just arrived from the valley and had fallen asleep instantly when she stopped. I woke her up and we checked out the progress of her remodel. Finding only tiny piles of snow in the street, I went home to trim off the dead sticks from my annuals and was rewarded to see new growth. As I trimmed, a neighbor I didn't recognize came up to say hi. She had read my blog and found out that we both had lived in Portland, Oregon. How springy cool was that?

Thursday Doors

Dan Antion invites bloggers every week to post pictures of Thursday Doors. I take crooked pictures so many of my doors are chopped off like the Sugar Bowl door by the time I straighten them. Nonetheless, it’s a fun challenge if you haven’t participated already.

Vince’s lease on his Jeep finally ran out. He’s been looking for used Porsches for about a year. The day finally came, and we found the one he wanted. The salesman took a door picture for me.

Another day in Scottsdale was dedicated to Sugar.

    1. I know, and this person doesn’t even blog. We have a bloggers’ group in Arizona and we meet about once a month, usually for brunch, but we have taken field trips as well. This month we are going to an open house of one of the members.

  9. Congrats on your beautiful Porsche! I sometimes miss ours but it turned into a bit of a garage queen. Best to get them out on the road (just be careful).

Good thing you found and woke your neighbor. She must have been VERY tired. Hopefully she got some sleep before heading back.

    1. She told me she was going to take No Doze. She had to clean out her condo so the flooring guys could put in the new floors, then she had to head back to Phoenix for another 10 hour shift. She was supposed to retire in December, but she is trying to pay for all her remodeling. I’m afraid she is going to kill herself working so hard, and never get to enjoy her lovely home. Yes, I think the Porsche will be a garage queen, too, but he might take it on a road trip tomorrow. I have a women’s event to attend, so I hope he has some fun with it.

  15. Years ago we were an inch away from buying a Cayman – they were still pretty new back then.โ€‚There was a mistake on our taxes, which nixed it, but if we had bought the car, we would not have been able to get the first house on Cape Cod, so all’s well that ends well.โ€‚Hope you and Vince enjoy the Porsche!

    1. We are discovering new things all the time. It has a glitch in the steering. Vince took it in, and we found out that at low speeds and low temperatures it has what is called the Ackerman effect. The shop manager said, “Get used to it. It disappears at speeds over 25.” LOL I didn’t know he was driving less than 25 mph! I’m sorry about the mistake on your taxes. They are a cute car. I’m not as into speed as Vince is. But it is fast.

How funny about the neighbour!โ€‚We were at the Almond Blossom festival here recently and, as I strolled around the stalls, I recognised a face- a Canadian blogger who’s recently moved into the area.โ€‚We looked at each other, exchanged a big grin, and then a hug.โ€‚It’s a small world, isn’t it?
