2021 Writer’s Quotes Wednesdays Writing Challenge Logo

The first year I hosted this challenge, I found this great picture with a woman showing quotation marks. She became my logo for this challenge. Last year was the first logo contest. the logo that got the most votes became this year’s logo created by Indian artist, Bansi Lal Ketki.

This year I’m inviting you to join in the second annual logo/badge/widget contest for this challenge. The name of the challenge for 2023 has been shortened to Wednesday Quotes or WQ. I promise I won’t shorten the name again – it would be a nameless challenge.

Contest Rules

  • The widget or logo should mention Wednesday Quotes and be something that is a compelling image or design to attract visitors to participate. It can be a photo, a drawing, a collage, or anything else that works.
  • The image should be applicable to any season, as we will use the badge for a year.
  • The badge should be square or slightly rectangular. Otherwise, it’s going to be squished to fit in the sidebar.
  • Your entry MUST BE an image you have the rights to share, and you must be willing and able to extend those rights publicly. I will be inviting everyone to use the badge.
  • To enter you may post the badge image on YOUR blog and leave a link in a comment section on THIS post or send a jpeg or png file to alwayswrite01@gmail.com.
  • You do not have to be a regular Wednesday Quotes contributor, but you should have a nodding acquaintance with the challenge.
  • One entry per person. If you submit multiple entries, I will include the last one submitted as your contest entry.
  • Once your logo has been chosen, I will ask you for a jpeg or png file that includes your web address so that you will get the recognition you deserve.

Timing – Your link must be posted or your email must be received by 12:00 pm Monday, December 19th, Phoenix time

Process – I will assemble the images for review and post a survey for voting on Wednesday, December 21st. The survey will be open until noon, on Monday, January 4th.

The voter-selected logo will be unveiled on Wednesday, January 7th along with the new WQ page with the year’s 2023 challenge themes.

Note: I will also discard any images considered inappropriate.

Now it’s your turn

I look forward to seeing what logos you come up with.

PPAC Photographing Public Art Challenge is now hosted by Natalie the Explorer. You can link your post directly to her Weekend Coffee Share blog post.

Happy Quoting!

[…] Writer’s Quotes Wednesday is changing to Wednesday Quotes in January to make it as much of a photo challenge as a writer’s challenge. Many of us have a similar blogging pattern – sharing snippets of our lives, which is why Natalie’s Weekend Coffee Share and Wednesday Quotes work well. Since I’ve been hosting WQW I have discovered how well using quotes augments any blog post. If you are artistic and want to join the “Design a Logo Contest,” you can get the details here. […]

When did you first begin Wednesday Quotes?

This is the end of my second year. I’ve shortened the name – this will be the second time. Colleen Cheesebro started it but wanted to devote more time to poetry and asked me to take it over. I’m less of a writer, more of a diarist, and I enjoy using it as a platform for telling stories and sharing pictures. So Terri Webster Schrandt and I talk a lot about our blogging and she suggested taking the writing part out of it so that it doesn’t scare photographers off. Wednesday Quotes is a more open name to welcome any kind of entry.

That is a good question. I’m sure she told me but I don’t remember. She called it Writer’s Quotes Wednesday Writing Challenge. I Googled it, and went on Ronovan’s site because I think she closed the site she used because it came up porn when I clicked on his link to it. The nearest thing I can figure out is 2016. She said it was inactive for quite a while after they quit – maybe 4 years. So no one else picked it up before she invited me to take it over.

Thanks for asking. I should ask for more details. It was certainly a different looking challenge back then looking at some of the responses and the challenge prompts.

Thank you, Donna. I’m sorry I haven’t visited your blog in a while. We’ve been moving this past month, and life has gotten in the way, LOL. I’ll be by to say hi and see what’s new with you. 🙂

It’s going well. We are still in the process of selling, so we can’t move everything. It will take a couple of months or more to get really settled. 🙂 But thanks!

I look forward to seeing what people come up with, Marsha. PS my comment on your abandoned building post didn’t link to my gravitas so it’s properly in quarantine. I don’t know why that happened 🤷‍♀️

No gravitas???? What’s up with that? WP gremlins are busy these days! Thanks for commenting. I’ll look around my blog and see if I can find your lost gravitas. 🙂 Have a great week, Robbie, and thanks always for commenting.
