LAST WEEK’S FABULOUS BLOGGERS
With all the other challenges, even public and street art, I thank all the bloggers who participate in the Photographing Public Art Challenge. Please honor these bloggers with your visits this week.
- MAMA CORMIER – GARDEN ART IN A COMMUNITY GARDEN
- NOW AT HOME – ZIMBABWE STATUES AND AFRICAN AND NEW ZEALAND METAL SCULPTURES
- PICTURES IMPERFECT – ABSTRACT ART IN BRIGHT COLORS
- PHOTOGRAPHIAS – A HANDY HANDSOME MURAL
- SECOND WIND LEISURE – FLEETING MOMENTS
- TRAVEL WITH ME – PICTURESQUE STATUES IN SOFIA
- WOOLLY MUSES – CREEK ART
IT’S EASY TO PLAY ALONG WITH #PPAC
- There is no weekly theme even though my post has a theme with murals, statues, fountains, scrap art, graffiti, store windows, seasonal displays, car or art shows, artistic construction, or even artistic neighborhood decor. Photograph the public art that is available to you.
- Art should be freely visible from a public street, freeway, or walkway or inside a publicly accessed building like a library. If you pay, it’s not public.
- Photographers should have free access of use for their photos – no copyrights by the artists.
- The challenge starts every Friday at 9:00 a.m. Phoenix Time and it ends on Thursday at noon.
- Write a post on your blog, publish it, and include a link back to my weekly post not my page preferably in a comment. Sometimes pingbacks are missed. See how to create pingbacks here.
- Take time to visit other PPAC participants throughout the week. I recommend visiting at least two or three other participants in the community and leaving them a comment.
- Have fun! Art is to be enjoyed!
For More Ideas about PPAC…

My Choices for PPAC #68
Here are three more pictures from my trip to the Pacific Northwest to meet up with bloggers. These are some of my favorites because of the colors. 🙂
I like to turn my brightest and best digital photos into digital puzzles. I just finished this one. Three hundred pieces snapped together in less than 2 hours on my small computer screen. The brighter colors make the puzzle easier, but the random patterns make it harder.

This is another mural that made a great puzzle. There are so many interesting lines, colors, and shadows. We found this one in downtown Vancouver, Washington.

This is the last bright piece of public art I have for you today. It works for Thursday Trios if you count the windows in the main scene.

Ongoing on Always Write
- Upcoming topics for WQW
- October 26: Holiday: Halloween/or Writer’s Choice/ or YOUR WOTY Review
Now it’s your turn.
I hope you are inspired to find your own unique art as you travel around with your camera this week, or rummage through your archives. Feel free to double dip and support your own favorite challenges along with PPAC. Have a wonderful weekend!

Very vibrant indeed! Somehow they also look as if they were newly painted, or maybe well-maintained.

They probably were newly painted because nothing stays vibrant in the constant rain!!

BYW, what theme are you using in WordPress?

Lens – I had to look it up to make sure. You have to get used to not having a sidebar on the home page. It is on each post, which makes changing it a little challenging. 🙂

I couldn’t really put cold weather together with glass this week, Marsha, but glass now abides as public art at Ft Vancouver! I was glad to share more about our trip and even the lighthouse!

No worries. Who wants to live in a glass house when it’s 40 below?

Thanks, Aletta. They are my favorites of the mural pics I took last month. But I have some historic ones coming. I gathered a lot of material during my trip. 🙂

I prefer soft, rounded shapes and lines so the water-themed mural in Portland really speaks to me. Great colors. Happy and playful.

I remember that last mural, Marsha. As I started to take a pic of it, that car pulled right up in front of it! Great shots of the murals. They did make great puzzles!

Cars do get in the way of a good mural shot sometimes – or sometimes they make them more interesting. Same with people. We got tons of great shots. Next time I need to drive so I can bring my other camera.
