WRITE PHOTO – SOLITUDE
K..L. Caley hosts Write Photo and she invites us to join in verse or prose.

Solitude He's gone. Do I moan, groan, try to atone? My heart is cleft, left behind. I'm so alone. Solitude Time slows. thoughts serene, wiped clean, pristine. Chance to think, link with myself. Wisdom to glean. Solitude Inhale, exhale, breathe, focus, transcend New heights, mights. Learn to bend, mend, extend. Solitude ©Marsha Ingrao 2022
99-WORD FLASH FICTION – SWEET AS CHERRIES
You can participate and write as many flash fiction stories about the theme as you want from Tuesday to Saturday. The only rule is to keep it to 99 words – EXACTLY – NO MORE NO LESS.
I struggle to write one every once in a while, but I do love sweets, so … Charli Mills runs Carrot Ranch Literary Community along with many of my other friends who participate as guests and regular writers. She is also our May Story Chat author as well – “As Far As a Former Prisoner Can Go.”
Sweet As Cherries
Jolene walked towards him. No time to wipe the telltale signs of nervousness and Oreos. Everyone would see if she wiped on her gown. She rubbed her fingers together to make the stickiness disappear before she reached him.
She remembered her first dance. Worse than sticky hands, beads formed on her nose. Boys looked and turned away. This time she wasn’t going to be defeated. She had already performed. Her accomplishment felt as sweet as cherries.
Jolene reached out her hand as she reached him.
“Well done, Jolene. You earned this.” And the University President handed her the diploma.
THURSDAY DOORS
Dan hosts a Thursday Doors challenge each week – except August 18th. Usually, I find doors on buildings, but cars and trucks are never out. This truck sits in front of the restaurant Cellar Creekside where several Arizona bloggers (or any bloggers in the neighborhood) will meet up for lunch on September 15th.

THURSDAY TRIOS
Mama Cormier hosts Thursday Trios and this week you will find her in the home deco store.
In this picture, the trios are the triptych on the wall depicting the mountains and saguaro cacti, iconic Arizona landmarks. Isn’t that the coolest bed? The room is also at the same location as the restaurant, Cellar Creekside just off Hwy 17 between Phoenix and Flagstaff on Hwy 169 to Prescott Valley.
There are more trio pictures in some of the other challenges as well if you can spot them. 🙂

CFFC (CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE) THINGS YOU USE EVERYDAY
If you don’t know Cee Neuner’s challenges, you are probably not a photographer. She has been one of my longest know blogging friends and has helped so many people learn more about photography through her challenges. CFFC is the first challenge I ever participated in, and I still love it. She has a new theme every week.

CBWC – Cee’s Black & White Challenge – Made by Humans
I first loved CBWC when she posted the challenge “horns.” Because our friend Jack was a horn player and an artist. We had passed by his collection of horns a million times, but I’d never stopped to take pictures. I made an appointment specifically to do that, and her compliment when I posted the challenge and was one of her featured bloggers set me on the path of being on the lookout for specific topics. Here are my choices for CBWC for this week.

Ongoing on Always Write
- WQW #28: “Livin’ in Sunshine Even When the Sun Don’t Shine”
- On August 9th Story Chat will present Gloria McBreen’s new story, “Backstab”
- Read the Story Chat Summary of July story, “Not a Proper Job” by Philip Cumberland
- PPAC #56 – “Publically Going in Circles” (Photographing Public Art Challenge) is your choice of art – no theme! Two more days to link.
- Upcoming topics for WQW
- August 3: Water: Rivers
- August 10: Water: Lakes
- August 17: Earth: Mountains, Rocks
- For a list of past WQW posts visit my WQW Page
I think that’s it for now. Whew! Have a great Thursday everyone. xxx

Isn’t that the greatest bed? I loved the rustic look of the whole place. I wish you could join us on September 15th.

I love the caravan bird house – so cute. It would go well in our garden.

It would go perfectly in your garden. I found it at WalMart for about $14. It’s the cheapest caravan I’ve ever bought! 🙂

Beautiful photos and writings. I enjoyed your Solitude poem a lot. Poems are always so difficult for me write, even in Thai. But reading them is fun. Even though some of the poems are difficult to analyze but that’s part of the fun (except during an exam, haha).
Are the three little people on the lamp beside the bed part of the trio too?

You have very estute vision, G. There are also three rungs on the footboard in this photo. If you find trios they are part of the challenge, even if I missed them – which I did, for the record.

I really liked your poem and your 99-word story. Great job with both! I’ll be traveling on Sept. 15, but, sadly, not in your area.

Very nice photos. Marsha. I like the cool door you used to identify the location of the meet up. Thanks, too for reminding people about the August 18th break for Thursday Doors.

Thanks, Dan. You are welcome. I finally left you a comment. I got done with my post, got up for a short break and two hours later, here I am again. LOL.

I’m sure it happens to everyone. We can only sit for so long, right?

Thanks, BB. The caravan would have worked for Terri’s Sunday Stills, too, but I didn’t think about it. Hope you are doing well. 🙂

I am OK thanks Marsha despite the cold weather. Cutting firewood keeps me warm 🙂
You doing alright over there?

We are getting your rains which we need. It’s much less messy irrigating, but I’m thankful we are getting rain! 🙂

my bed frame is almost identical to the one you showed Marsha!
What is the name of that isolated castle?

Aha, that’s not my photo. That one belongs to KL Caley. She does the challenge Write Photo, and usually used her own photos, so she could tell you. Great picture, though isn’t it? I have a friend in CA who had a bed almost like that. I always loved the look. 🙂

Awwww thanks, Donna. How are you? I am going to try to visit everyone today and tomorrow. Hubby is off taking care of business, so I have a few days of solitude to fill. 🙂

Yours was the first post I visited today, and I never got past it. When I think, “I could do that, my post reading takes a screeching halt. My next project is to visit the rest of the posts I’ve been missing. 🙂

Thanks, Cindy. You inspired me to try something different in the poem world. It doesn’t match any form, but it was fun. I enjoy writing poetry so much, I don’t know why I don’t do it more often.
The bed, BTW is inside the cabin we toured at Cellar Creekside where we are having a blogger meetup on Sept. 15th. Wish you could come! 🙂
