Usually, I highlight some activities in which I discovered public art during the week. This is throwback week for me. So I’m pulling together a theme – for me but feel free to copy it if it works. You can follow the idea of throwback or find some horse art or just horse around. Enjoy your week. 🙂

IT’S EASY TO PLAY ALONG WITH #PPAC
- There is no weekly theme even though my post has a theme with murals, statues, fountains, scrap art, graffiti, store windows, seasonal displays, car or art shows, artistic construction, or even artistic neighborhood decor. Photograph the public art that is available to you.
- Art should be freely visible from a public street, freeway, or walkway or inside a publicly accessed building like a library. If you pay, it’s not public.
- Photographers should have free access of use for their photos – no copyrights by the artists.
- The challenge starts every Friday at 9:00 a.m. Phoenix Time and it ends on Thursday at noon.
- Write a post on your blog, publish it, and include a link back to my weekly post not my page preferably in a comment. Sometimes pingbacks are missed. See how to create pingbacks here.
- Take time to visit other PPAC participants throughout the week. I recommend visiting at least two or three other participants in the community and leaving them a comment.
- Have fun! Art is to be enjoyed!

Horses in Prescott, AZ
During rodeo days here in Prescott, we met a real Pony Express rider. The Pony Express runs once a year during rodeo days. It’s just as hard now as it was then, especially in the 100-degree July heat.
“Bucky O’Neill (February 2, 1860-July 1,1898 ) was an editor, sheriff, and many other jobs in Prescott, Arizona. He was also a Captain in Roosevelt’s Rough Riders. His name came because he tended to “buck the finger” or play against the odds in games of gambling. He was killed in Cuba. The statue was made by Solon Burglum who was America’s first cowboy sculptor (1868-1922). The statue was dedicated July 3, 1907.”

- WQW #26 (Writer’s Quotes Wednesdays) – “Hearing” The only rule is to have at least one quote in your post about the topic. Remember a song can be a quote, too. Then just post a story, poem, or pictures that tie into and respond to your quote or quotes. The last day to post links is Tuesday at 12:00 noon Phoenix time.
