Public art encompasses any form of art you see in a public place, large or small, statues, murals, graffiti, gardens, parks, etc. The art should be visible from streets, sidewalks, or outdoor public places. Let your imagination and photographic eye show us diverse samples all over the world.

My Choices for PPAC #34 Williams, AZ Walk #1
I promised you some pictures of PPAC from Hawaii, or at least that’s what I wrote in my curation calendar. However, this weekend Vince and I needed to get out of the house. Covid Omicron has run its three-week course. We hadn’t been contagious for over two weeks. With no temperatures and just stuffy noses, we were bored. So we drove an hour north of Prescott to Williams, AZ.
What a shock when we drove into the first gas station.
Even the gas tank looked like it might not be too fresh. We finally got a clue when we walked up to the door to visit the museum. “Closed for the winter. See you in March.”
We drove around the rest of the town. A few cars were parked along the street. Some of the people looked like they had been waiting a while for the stores to open. We decided to come back in the summer.
Other Challenges that Inspired WQW #34
The only restriction with Squares is that at least one picture in the bunch is square, and it’s odd. We found it very odd that the entire town was pretty much closed even though I know now that they get snow in January, but that wasn’t much snow! Very odd.
I loved the odd surprise in the back of the truck especially after just photographing a similar prisoner in Wickenburg. Poor guy. He didn’t have to put up with 110 degrees in the summer, but it looks like the winter was fairly harsh for him.
I also loved the old gas pumps. Some of the photos I could square, and others I didn’t want to cut that much out of the picture, but nonetheless, I thought the entire trip was a bit odd.
I have a few more I can show you next week. It looked like next door to the museum was a PPAC factory, which I thought was pretty odd. So onward and odder we go as we triple dip into PPAC today.
