This prompt is like asking me to choose my favorite strand of hair. I’m just glad to have hair. The best way to start when given a prompt of any kind – challenge or otherwise – is to FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS.
Inspiring Quotes from Challenges
One quote that inspired me is found on Kirstin’s WQW post about fitness.
“Exercise is a celebration of what your body can do. Not a punishment for what you ate.“

Terri Webster Schrandt has started her Fitness Friday posts again. Here is a great quote for today that goes along with my philosophy of fitness.
“One of the common mistakes we make when starting diets is that we approach food as something NOT to eat or enjoy. Of course, most of us need to eat more nutritious foods and cut down on calories. Rather than sink our money into diets that will stop working once we stop buying/eating the food, make a list of foods YOU do enjoy.”

The problem with weight loss programs is that they often make me gain weight! For a short time, years ago, I went to a physician who gave me a shot of B12 once a week and seven diet pills. For a few weeks they really worked. Then, they made me sick. I cut the pills in half and that worked for a while. On the plus side, I lost about 25 pounds that stayed off for years. On the minus side, when cutting the tiny pills into quarters still made me sick, it was time to quit the diet and never try the pills again.
Challenge Responses
Sunday Stills & Cellpic Sunday
It did snow for a second this morning in Prescott but melted before I snapped a shot. So, I’m relying on past photos of white things like Debbie from Deb’s World did for Sunday Stills since they are enjoying the heat of summer in Australia. These were taken with my iPhone 6.
Christmas Trip to Delaware
For this challenge I tried to go outside the box to find white photos. These came from the Winterthur Museum in Delaware at Christmas. To me they represented items that were traditionally white when my grandparents and even my mother was young – snow being the exception, of course.
Winterthur Museum is located in Delaware, not too far from Amish counties in Pennsylvania. Clothing for the Amish used to be typically white, black, or possibly gray. Anything else would have been prideful. The tureen shown was quite valuable, and also represented putting out the best.
Although these diorama scenes probably represented the late 1800s, my grandma’s bedding was all white all her life. When she moved in with Mom at age 80 in 1984, she moved all of her white bedding with her – torn and mended sheets included. Grandma was a true woman of the Great Depression and never got rid of anything. We had white bedding in our home until probably the late 1960s.
Grandma Golda always used a white tablecloth with a pad underneath to protect her wood table. Today restaurants, and possibly even hostess at home put on a white tablecloth when they want their guests to enjoy their finest table settings and cuisine.
