I was going to take a short break from Writer’s Quotes Wednesdays, so I invited you to continue to post your reflections on last week’s post. I count this as my second post on the topic, but my two main points of emphasis are Reflections of 2021 and Reflections on water.

I left out so many memorable trips and photos. February brought our friends Jean and Kelly for their first visit. In May we went to Vegas and CA. June brought our friend Patty and Jesse who helped us move. In August, Terri and Hans came for a couple of days – picture is on Terri’s site. September was full in spite of being indisposed. One of the highlights was spending a couple of days in Mesa with another former neighbor, Carolyn and going to see the Natural History Museum. October brought our friends Jean and Kelly back to see if I was going to die.

I had a total of six leg surgeries to remove clots, the last one on December 17th. I may or may not be done. The ultrasound machine will tell in a few more weeks. I’ll find out in a week how my lungs are after bathing them in a CT scan.
Every day I lived after having blood clots in my legs and lungs brought celebratory improvements in my health. Our friend and neighbor, Carmen from California, made a serendipitous visit to see us for a fun week of showing her around and doing lots of firsts. For me – first pano shot ever taken, first salt room treatment in Sedona, first Imitation Grateful Dead Concert at the Bird Cage Bar for me – way out of my comfort zone. Everything was new for her. After she left, we enjoyed our first safe and healthy parties with our new Prescott friends.
Even with all the medical issues, it was a wonderfully active and blessed year in the new home we moved into exactly one year ago on January 4th. I think my word of the year for 2021 should have been GRATITUDE. For 2020, I think CHANGE would have been appropriate.
