My Choices for PPAC #27

A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege to meet John and Lynn Steiner – Journeys with Johnbo in Scottsdale for lunch. We visited a delicious Mexican restaurant called Frank and Lupe’s and ate outside on the patio. You can do that in December in Scottsdale. Public art abounded everywhere. Here are a few samples of what we saw there.

Frank & Lupe’s

The restaurant is hard to find without a co-pilot. It’s in the heart of the Marshall Way Arts District. It’s right off Indian School Way, which is an exit off the 101E Loop on Marshall Way. As you can see, there’s parking right in front of the building.

Lynn took pictures of old license plates on the wall behind my chair.

Last week, while our former neighbor Carmen was here, Vince got the urge visit an ice cream store in Old Town Scottsdale. Outside the parlor we sat at tables and admired the round planters, some with poinsettias others with ornamental cabbage. Each planter housed a large elf working its own mischief.

Manny threatened to steal this picture for his blog because of the stuffeds – his word for stuffed animals like himself. He particularly liked the saguaro cactus. The large elves scared him a bit because he thought they were laughing at him or trying to ruin the cabbage. Do you think they are up to no good, or just cute?

    1. That van was amazing inside and out. It looked like it just drove off the showroom floor, and there it was parked just like every other car.

    1. There are lots of hikes up here. Or we could come down there and do a hike, if they are not too hard.

    1. Take it from Manny, you wouldn’t want to get too close to the elves. The van, on the other hand, was fabulous.
