For Lens-Artist Photo Challenge #176, Leya invites not just to post one photo, but to tell a short story about it, the essence of photo blogging. As I understand the prompt, the theme is up to us.
Prescott has its best weather in the fall. Visitors leave their sunny 80-degree weather in Phoenix/Scottsdale or their 32-degree and raining weather in Detroit, Michigan to walk the fresh autumn Prescott trails.
We walk Peavine Trail, a former railroad bed because it is not only beautiful but a safe, flat, easy walking surface perfect for running, biking, walking, and photographing. As we began the trail we spotted our pastor running towards us. Even though he was jogging in preparation for a marathon, he had stopped to take a picture of this tree on the side of Watson Lake. Because he told us about the beautiful tree, we kept our eyes open and took a snapshot too.
The more we walk a trail, or drive a road, the more it becomes a routine – something we do for a reason, not just to enjoy. I appreciated that our pastor took the time to mention this tree. Otherwise, I would have kept my eyes down scouring the path for jutting rocks that might trip me. I might have hurried past a beautiful photo opportunity without taking the time to enjoy my surroundings.
Blogging is wonderful because it provides each of us a forum or platform to highlight what inspires us. Our readers take note and aspire to see and experience places and events they would never have known about before we mentioned them. As we chat and read each other’s blogs, we also notice similarities in our own experiences and relate stories about our lives in response.
Blogging takes the mundane out of every day.
