All is quiet on the western front, and what could be more calming than being on or near water?

Today I am inspired by two challenges.

Bravo Lake in Woodlake, CA in February 2013
Avila Beach, CA in December 2019
Resting on a buoy in Newport, OR in August 2018

Now it’s your turn to have fun.

Jez doesn’t need his water pictures in black and white, but Cee does.

And we are going back in January for a super short visit with friends. 3 days in Avila, 2 in Woodlake and 2 in Sacramento.

My favorite is the bouy…and when I read it was here in Oregon made it even more special. 😀 😀

And it has sea lions on it, I think. I don’t think they are seals, but it’s hard to tell without seeing their ears.

Thanks, Jim Want to go for a cool swim? I don’t think you would enjoy being IN any of those bodies of water. 🙂

you’re right; once the water gets below 70, I’m probably not going in…

That would be all year in these places! I’m not into swimming below 85! 🙂

Yes, but 70 is a better age. 🙂

It’s either a seal or a sea lion. Without seeing the ears up close, it’s hard to tell. They are a little blurry no matter how much I tried to clarify them. 🙂

Others have said they love the seals, so maybe they are experts. 🙂

Fantastic shots, Marsha 👏 The detail of the duck plumage is amazing, but like Brian says, seals are always a favourite 😃

Glad you enjoyed them. I had a lot of fun with this post. I have tons of water water photos once I get them all sorted out, it will be easier for me to join in.

Great double up Marsha. Can’t pick a favourite, maybe the seals but that’s my bias 🙂

Why are you biased towards seals? We saw a lot of them in Oregon.

Maybe they are like dogs or don’t have any visible features that can install fear. Sweet from a distance but scary up close when they feel disturbed 😀

We kayaked in Monterey Bay once, and had sea otters swim right up to us. I’ve been to acquariums where we could get close to the seals and sea lions, but you don’t want to because they are stinky! They are quite loud – sea lions anyway.
