My Choices for This Week.
My friend Connie and I spent last pre-Christmas in Sonora where her son and his wife live and pastor a church. We spent a lovely afternoon looking at titles of old books in an antique store. My husband is glad I have a Kindle. 🙂

Now it’s Your Turn
I know I have more pictures of books, but I still have organizing to do. It’s like housework – it never ends. 🙂

Happy memories with Connie. I love my Kindle. I can buy whatever I want and I don’t have to find a place to put it. I’ve been re-reading some of my most favourite books on our bookshelf and I think I should probably pass them on to someone else once I’ve read them. But I can’t give them away just yet.

It’s hard. I kept so many books, that are still packed. Moving from 4 bookcases to two is hard! 🙂

Some books are too precious to part with.

Yes, and I have two very full book cases still. And I use them as I blog about different topics – like the Underground Gardens. There’s no way to remember all that stuff. And the Internet doesn’t got into enough details about relatively unknown things.

Nothing quite like a bookstore for rainy days.

My husband is also glad I have a Kindle, and so am I most of the time, but I still enjoy a browse in a second-hand bookshop 😀

A bookstore is easier to browse in than an antique store like this one! There was no organization.

Isn’t that part of the fun though? You never know what you might come across!

I admit, it was fun, Sarah. There is so much STUFF that I get visually overloaded. It’s like going into the Vatican, and looking in every direction and seeing something beautiful and noteworthy. It’s too much. That’s how I get in antique stores unless I have a reason to be there. So I take pictures and it calms me down.

The second image captured my attention – and I think it was the ‘time” sign that capsulated the image for me.

I prefer actual books, although Kindles are great space-savers. I get most of my books from charity shops (then donate them back when I’m done) and from our local library. But, I do love to poke around both new and used book stores. That one looks like it has a lot of treasures!

That is a good way to get books. A lot of resorts do that as well.

I love both, but Kindles do save a lot of space. I had to give up two bookcases when I came to Prescott. That means some books were sold or given away and some are still in boxes. Kindle books are not as good for referencing even though you can underline. There’s something about physical memory when you are looking for something and you can quote it. You know where it was on the page and where the page was in the book.

Typo? Oh well, we all make them, right? I hate making them in the title of the post, though!

I love bookstores! But I also had to get a kindle or I’d be overflowing! Still….
