Last week for PPAC #17, I had a marvelous response from all of you. I want to say thank you to each of you for joining along in our challenge.  Here are the featured bloggers for this week.  Their posts really grabbed my attention. They are all worthy of a second or third look.

My PPAC for This Week

These photos wouldn’t make the cover of the Arizona Highways Magazine. As Vince and I approached the tiny town of Yarnell on Highway 89 about half-way to Wickenburg from Prescott, the owner had these creations out for our driving enjoyment.

Since my walking is unsteady at best, I did not get good angles on these pictures. Some other time. We still haven’t made it all the way to Wickenburg.

A few steps from the elephant crossing was this adorable very skinny critter. I’m assuming he mulishly kept the elephants from going onto the highway!

If you’re ever in the area and want to enjoy a beautiful drive, this is the way we went.

        Yes I agree. He’s on the same ‘International Animal Rescue’ wall as the orangutans in my featured photo and they look sad too. The artist is making a point about endangered species so I guess that’s why they look sad.

BTW, are you going to write a short story again for Story Chat? It was great fun hosting you and hearing your thoughts about the process along the way. I would also love to hear what your plans are for you story, Sometimes a Miracle – after SC. I think I remember reading you rewrote it. If so, please respond with a link, so people can check it out!

        Hi Marsha, I’ve been scrambling some lately and am just caching up. I’d love to do another story chat. Do you have a month open. The way I write, things like this are best planned ahead if possible.

        I’ve done only minor tinkering with Sometimes a Miracle. I’m actually pretty happy with it but I also like the idea of making it longer because I’d love to add the flavor of the parents and explore their pain and reactions more. On the other hand, the story has been told and I’m not sure there’s enough to merit an expansion. I also really – really want to get Canopy out the door. It’s setting at about 15K words right now (~50 minutes) and I don’t want to spill over into 16K as that’s a whole different division of story size. I’ve also lost lots of time for it to covid and unexpected details that needed to cleaned up and made to play nice with each other. It’s almost done, still, but I’m really getting closer and like what I have – mostly.

        It’s just over 3.5K and was always going to be too long for Story Chat, But there are other ideas brewing.

          Hi Gary, thanks for your long comment and the link. I will try to get there in the next few days. We’re driving to Scottsdale for my two appointments this week, and a short visit with a former neighbor from CA. I didn’t bring my computer because time is limited except while I’m waiting on offices. You know how that goes. This will be my fourth surgery, and maybe my last. I’m not sure. Then I graduate to check ups until I’m cleared for knee surgery to repair the torn meniscus. It’s a long process, but I’m an obedient patient.

          I think the next opening is May. It’s on my website for sure. It’s so great having you as part of this year’s lineup! 🤗🤗🤗

            Well Bravo for you making such great progress and playing nice with the docs. I’m looking forward to the story of your glory about this whole event. You would certainly have collected some fun lessons learned or fun insights into this side of medicine.

            I just looked at your website and it looks like both March and April are open. May is taken. I’ll leave you with the mental note that I’d like to plan on joining again for March, or if someone beats me to it, April of 2022.

            Then about that leaving your laptop behind, are you trying to tempt us to send you links you can read on your phone while sitting and waiting for your appointments. . . ?
            I’m fully up to doing something like that. You just say the word 🤗 🤗

    There are lots of rusty art in and around Buckeye. I find it fascinating how in the Arizona desert, people choose to display African animals. >grin<

      That is funny. It should be a javelina, lizard, or mountain lions, right? We mostly see lizards. We had to put an extra wooden threshold under our screen security door to keep them out of our living room. Our cats used our carpet as hunting grounds.
