Roses tickle me pink. This month, I’ve picked a theme of roses. Granted, it’s not the main season for roses, that would be April, in California. They are still nice here in Prescott. I like this challenge, even though I’m doing others, I’ll try not to intermingle them so much so you won’t have to plow through stories to see the flowers.

- Single flowers
- Buds
- Multiple flowers
- Bouquet
- Flower fields
- Wildflowers
- Tree or bush blossoms
- Autumn leaves
- Spring leaves
- Decorative Cabbage
- Berries

Did you know that Elvis recorded 710 songs? “He Ain’t Nothin But a Hound Dog” was my brother’s and mine for a while. I was three when it came out and my brother was one, so we probably got the 78 rem record and a record player to play it on when I was about five and Randy was three. That’s when we learned about Elvis. I’m sure we saw him at the drive-in movies as well, but by the time I turned thirteen, I went to a Beatles concert and Elvis was history in my book.

lovely yellow roses!
i have six multi colored roses on a vase – bought them for son’s gf and she left them here for me to keep (they were talking a short trip)
anyhow – did you plant your roses or were they there when you moved in?

The garden belongs to the City of Woodlake. However, for many years a the small farm advisor for UC Davis, who lives in Woodlake designed, planted and ran the entire 14 acres at the Woodlake Botanical Gardens. After a short disagreement about the cost of maintenance of the garden. the professor stopped working in the rose garden. The City killed about half the roses and couldn’t maintain them, so Kiwanis stepped in and devised a plan for their long-time care. It is not jointly maintained by several non-profit groups. The City helps with materials, and it gets more care than if two or three guys spent about an hour a week on it. It’s not perfect, but it’s working.

Ahh…: I must have quickly skimmed the post and read that roses in California in April
And then in Prescott some are there –
So I missed the woodlake part and thanks for the graciousness in reply
Glad it is working 💐
