Natalie the Explorer tells us that she is delighted to be hosting the Sunday Stills photography challenge while host Terri Webster Schrandt is away. Natalie’s theme this week is afloat. What a perfect theme!
I had the privilege of taking these pictures with Terri when she zipped through Prescott on her way to a wedding in Sedona.

The weather couldn’t have been more pleasant for a kayak ride. Prescott runs about 15-20 degrees cooler than the temperatures in the valley. That meant about 85-90 degrees with a breeze stiff enough to blow off my visor. That’s why I wore it around my neck! Does the kayaking envy show on our faces?
Kayaking Season on Watson Lake
“Learn to kayak because zombies can’t swim.”
– Author unknown
Hans, Terri’s husband barked at the dog. The dog barked back, “I’m in the boat, sucker. You’re on shore. Watch out for Zombies.”

“I don’t need therapy. I just need to go kayaking.”
– Author unknown

“Never mess with a kayaker. We know places where no one will find you.”
– Author unknown

“Kayaking is the answer. Who cares what the question is.”
-Author unknown

“So lovely was the loneliness of a wild lake.”
– Edgar Allan Poe
This lake was anything but lonely – maybe a bit wild, but not lonely. Thanks for joining us on Sunday Stills. Thank you Natalie for hosting Sunday Stills this week. Thanks also for reminding us that Jez has a challenge Water Water Everywhere each week.

I really want to try kayaking – you make it look quite appealing…

That’s not me getting into a kayak. I guarantee you would not think it looked so appealing if you had to watch either my entrance or exit. LOL

but I’m sure the time in between makes it all worthwhile! 🙂

Lovely pictures on the water. I like how the slide show has a close-up and a more distant photo.

It was fun, but probably not in the way you think. We didn’t get in a boat.

Yay, what a fun day and a half that was, Marsha! We could have stayed in Prescott for DAYS!! I have a little downtime this week, so I thought to check in with my favorite bloggers! Miss you all. You got some great kayak pics on that outing and I adore your quotes. I’ll be wrapping up our trip when I come back on 9/12, which the theme incidentally is “going back.” hee hee. I will never forget our trip to Prescott and Sedona with you and Vince. One of the best vacations we have had, although too short! Not sure if you saw my IG and FB posts, but the images came out quite well. Hope to be on the call tomorrow!

I can’t wait to talk to you! We had such fun, too. It was way too short. But like Hans said, “Next time when we come for longer, we’ll stay longer.” 🙂 I loved that. We laughed so hard with you both.

Thanks Kirstin. So when you come to Prescott, this is what we can do, and you don’t even have to swim. 🙂

Fantastic to see you this week, Marsha 👏 & what a great day you had with Terri. Love all the pics with the brave dogs, & the quote about knowing places no-one will find you 🤣

I love how you have the dogs on the kayak. I think mine would do just fine since they are scared of going into the water.

Mine is too. I think she would hang on tight. I hadn’t thought about taking her. It’s so much easier to leave her at home safe and sound.

We didn’t actually canoe. Not enough time, and I still can’t get into a boat. But we had fun taking pictures.

Me too. It will, though. The surgeon tells me it is quick and easy surgery and in a day or two I should be as good as new. 🙂

Marsha, How wonderful that you and Terri met up. I love all of your kayaking quotes and photos. The dogs seemed to get the best rides and none of the work. Thank you for your contribution to #SundayStills.
