This month, since #TreeSquares is over I decided to post to Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge (FOTD).  Like Becky B, Cee offers us the freedom to post every day or when we feel like it.  I made the mistake of classifying my trees as flowers for about half the month last month. So this month – no trees. (maybe). Cee’s FOTD challenge accepts:

  • Single flowers
  • Buds
  • Multiple flowers
  • Bouquet
  • Flower fields
  • Wildflowers
  • Tree or bush blossoms
  • Autumn leaves
  • Spring leaves
  • Decorative Cabbage
  • Berries
  • Still life
  • Fake or Silk Flowers

As I swirled through my forested universe last month for Becky’s TreeSquares, I came in touch again with my Australian trip. This month I’ll revisit only the flowers I photographed in Ballarat, Melbourne, Healesville Sanctuary and Queensland. Sometimes I might combine my post with another challenge I am doing, but I may just post one photo a day. I’ve never done that, so I’ll see how it goes.

Today these picture are also submitted to Jude’s Life in Colour. Today’s theme is quirky, but my AU flower photos are categorized with that word. So I’m settling for beautiful.

August 11 City Parks: Red Flowers

Melbourne is the largest city in Australia, home to about 5 million people and probably as many flowers. It’s temperate oceanic climate ranging from a high of 79 degrees to a low in July of about 57 degrees sounds like the perfect weather, not only if you’re a person, but also if you are a floral species. Like Prescott, the weather can change from moment to moment.

  1. Those fuchsias are unfamiliar to me. Like elongated drops of color. Beautiful.

    1. It was hiding in a bunch of grasses. I cropped it way down, and because the photo was good, it turned out wonderfully. I had not used it before. I definitely have some favorites but since I have thousands of pictures, it’s good to branch out a little. It’s so much fun walking down memory lane. Your going to love PPAC this Friday. I remember thinking I was going to faint from hunger when I took them. That’s a clue. 🙂
