If you want to join John’s Cell Pic Sundaythe only rules are that the photo must be captured with a cell phone, iPad, or another mobile device… If you have an image from a drone, that’s acceptable as well. The second rule is to link your challenge-response to this post or leave a comment here with a link to your post in the comment.

Prescott, AZ has lots of weather. One week you get monsoons, the next nearly 100 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Some days the clouds covering the mountains take our breath away. Here is a picture I took on August 2 with my iPhone 12 mini. I changed the lighting and clarity in Bridge.

Granite Mountain

The first picture is beautiful, but not dramatic, the tree is too dark, and it’s not crisp. The second picture looked too cheerful to me. When I added yellow tint in the featured picture, the clouds looked a bit dusty, and they were anything but dusty. After I added a bit more yellow and purple tint without changing the lighting, I thought the third picture looked more suitably severe and moody.

Thanks again John.

  3. Wow! Adding that touch of yellow and purple really added to the drama of the image and gave it a look that immediately made me think of “Purple Mountain Majesty.”

    Very nice work, my friend!
