This month, since #TreeSquares is over I decided to post to Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge (FOTD). Like Becky B, Cee offers us the freedom to post every day or when we feel like it. I made the mistake of classifying my trees as flowers for about half the month last month. So this month – no trees. (maybe) Cee’s FOTD challenge accepts gardens, leaves and berries as well as flowers.
As I swirled through my forested universe last month I came in touch again with my Australian trip. This month I’ll revisit only the flowers I photographed in Ballarat, Melbourne, Healesville Sanctuary and Queensland. Sometimes I might combine my post with another challenge I am doing, but I may just post one photo a day. I’ve never done that, so I’ll see how it goes.
August 5 Ballarat Botanical Gardens

LAPC #159 Post Cards

Hi Sweetie Pie, Wish you had come with me. We had a great day here in the Botanical Gardens today. A bit different than foggy Woodlake here. The temperatures are easily in the 90s. Carol and Mandy are smart to cover their arms in the intense Australian sun, but if I did they’d drip off me.

Submitted to Ana for LAPD #159 Postcards. I made this fun post card in Canva.

What a lovely time you had, Marsha. I thought it was your lovely copperplate writing on the post card until I read you made it in Canva.

It was so cool. They had stamp frames. So you could fill in your own pictures.

It is so lovely to see you taking a trip down memory lane, Marsha. So lovely to hear you visited Victoria, Australia – my state. Ballarat isn’t too far from me and I remember visiting it a few years ago. I went to the Ballarat Botanical Gardens and it is lovely to see it again through your lens. Lovely shot of the kangaroo hedges. Looked like a lovely sunny day too.

I did, Mabel. It was about 4 and a half years ago, but the pictures are a fun way to review and remember with traveling curtailed.

The most ostentatious topiary I ever saw was at Disney, Florida, Marsha. Who can fail to smile at topiary Pooh and Tigger? Hope life is treating you well, hon.

Is that Pooh and Tiger? Oh no!!! Thanks for the good thoughts.

Ahhh. I thought the title was a secret coded message for the start of D-Day or something. Beautiful!

No secret code, John, LOL. I did get some pictures at a WWI Memorial in Melbourne. Ted poppies everywhere!

I love the topiary – that seems like it would require a lot of skill and patience.
and did I miss FOTD 4?

Yes, and a lot of maintenance.

They were too green to know how to do that.
