This month, since #TreeSquares is over I decided to post to Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge (FOTD). Like Becky B, Cee offers us the freedom to post every day or when we feel like it. I made the mistake of classifying my trees as flowers for about half the month last month. So this month – no trees. (maybe) Cee’s FOTD challenge accepts gardens, leaves and berries as well as flowers.
As I swirled through my forested universe last month I came in touch again with my Australian trip. This month I’ll revisit only the flowers I photographed in Ballarat, Melbourne, Healesville Sanctuary and Queensland. Sometimes I might combine my post with another challenge I am doing, but I may just post one photo a day. I’ve never done that, so I’ll see how it goes.
August 3 Ballarat Botanical Gardens

Today I am linking up to one of my Aussie friends, Denyse Whelan’s Blog.
Denyse’s prompt is “remember,” which is perfect for this month of posts in which I remember all the wonderful flowers I photographed in Australia in 2017. I remember all the wonderful friends I made there both blogging and friends of bloggers who made such an effort to show me a good time. Thank you!

I haven’t been to Ballarat since 1979. I don’t remember the botanic gardens.

They are across from Lake Wendouree and the restaurant Pipers. It’s not right downtown. Does that ring a bell?

Not at all. It’s over 40 years since I was there. I went panning for gold. Don’t remember much else about it. 🙂

Katie did most of the panning. We only got a few flakes. I never got the hang of swirling.

I don’t think we got anything. But we had fun. That’s what we went for.

Thanks for doing it each week. I finally found the prompt. You might want to put the prompt at the beginning in huge letters for blind folks like me. Your prompt fit exactly what I’m doing this month with FOTD.

nice job with the focus on the flower and the blurred background!

Thanks, Jim. That blurry way is how I see everything. 🙂 LOL

not everything; you’ve got your focus on the right things…

Looking back over my pics, I got some great shots of flowers. It really was a photo journey. I learned a lot by copying! We call it modeling, as educators, don’t we?

You’re begging for a compliment, Mr. Fancy Words. You have plenty of those words on your blog!

I can spell and type fancy words; knowing what they mean is another issue 🙂
