To join in the fun of squares this month, create your square post and include a pingback to any of my daily square posts in July. Don’t forget to use the theme’s tag – TreeSquare, and I’d love it if you left a comment.

In this month’s square’s challenge I will start at home and spiral farther and farther from home to share different tree species in my travels. All of these posts will work for both Becky B’s Squares and Cee’s Flower of the Day, #FOTD

#Prescott Walk #15 Prescott National Forest at Lynx Lake

A five or six minute drive past Costco in Prescott, AZ, civilization disappears, turning in to Prescott National Forest. Within seven miles of the City Center you have arrived at Lynx Lake in the midst of the Prescott National Forest.

The temperature had cooled to 96 degrees by the time we drove from our driveway at 99 degrees. It was quiet in the parking lot an hour before sunset on June 16th during prime hiking season.

We saw one brave paddle boarder in the center of the lake, two pick-nicking couples, a camper, one dog, a tall young man with his mother receiving a lesson on jogging and a few parked cars.

In the next post we will walk around a bit at Lynx Lake.

Beautiful images, Marsha! Did you take those with your new camera?

Actually, no. Vince surprised me with a trip and I was unprepared. I think I took them with his iPhone. 🙂

Well, you go Vince! I’m glad you got out and away. They are really nice. IPhone takes good photos but nothing like my camera. I want that new Purple IPhone. hehehe! 🙂

Purple? Our phones are already seven months old – outdated! LOL We got a matching pair both with good picture-taking abilities.

Purple is my favorite color and I’m up for an upgrade. I’ll wait a few more months or until my foot is healed. 🙂

Vince and I have the iPhone 12 mini. Believe it or not, I have a turquoise case on mine. 🙂

I love National Forests and nature preserves! Peace and nature set aside so we humans don’t mess everything up.

Yes, and that is the problem. They are huge areas and other things grow well in some of the National Forests. Monitoring activity is a huge responsibility for rangers.

They don’t run very fast, so I’m pretty good at it! 🙂

I don’t know, nit picking into the fountain. Sounds kind of dirty. I am not crazy about nits. 🙂

All the lakes are starving in Prescott, Becky. They are not even great for kayaking. The algae and bugs swarm the surface, and you can barely get through with a small boat. 🙂

It is monsoon season, so I’m hoping that helps. We are not familiar with the seasons here yet. In CA, we hoped and prayed for snow in the mountains. I’m sure there is some of that here, too, but I haven’t noticed the huge fill from runoff that we saw in CA.

Fingers crossed for you. The US does seem to be having a really unusual year for weather
