For Writer’s Quotes Wednesdays Writing Challenge for the past weeks we have discussed topics that add to our well-being – nutrition, hope, faith, exercise. Starting this month we are going to switch to a new series of topics that are more seasonal. We start with summer. Check out my page for the rest of the month. So much has changed since the Summer of 2020 as we tiptoe past the restrictions of COVID 19.
“One benefit of Summer was that each day we had more light to read by.”
― Jeannette Walls, The Glass Castle
Remember to join in #WQWWC, the only rule is that you must include a quote in your post. Respond any way you want. Make a meme, write a story, philosophize for 2,000 words, or write a Haiku with 8 syllables.
My #WQWWC Post for Summer
First Summer in Prescott, AZ
Here in Prescott, it seemed that summer would never get here. Suddenly, the nineties have arrived, leaves are fully out, gardens planted in pots to keep the rabbits away, neighbors stop to visit as they go in and out, kayaks are loaded onto car roofs, bikes onto bike racks, pickleball abounds from 7:30 to 9:30 am, then comes to an abrupt end as people head to the pool. Prescott draws adults escaping the Phoenix and Tucson heat to play in one of our four lakes, and hike on our mountain trails. It’s Disneyland for adults.
Sadly for me, most of you don’t live in Prescott, AZ. This is your chance to tell what’s going on in your world. Or are you leaving your world to take a vacation? Maybe your world is upside down from mine and you are in the deep throes of winter. You’re going to have to dig into your archives and remember the warmer days.
