Las Vegas Building Walk #2

So many wonderful entries have already been submitted for the Lens Artist Photo Challenge #148 this week. Leya suggested that we try spots and dots. I found way too many examples of hot spots and dots on the Las Vegas Strip.
From where we stood at the Aria we hardly had to move before we started seeing spots and dots. I made my own spot with my flash shooting out the tenth floor window of our hotel room.
It has always bothered me somewhat that in the hot desert spot of Las Vegas you find so many water fountains. I love them, but maybe that’s part of the Sin City’s sin. Or maybe they are trying to make clouds.
We came outside a couple of times on our Las Vegas Walk. The first time out, the entry way ceiling dots captured my attention. Twilight was the perfect time for spots both on the ceiling and on the ground.
Walking across the street via the skywalk, Vince and I found some ground dots in this photo for Cee’s Tuesday Fun Foto Challenge: Color v Black & White. My main interest was the statue. I think it was an eraser – my favorite tool, and it’s round. There’s even a wisp of a ghost in the photo. Don’t ask me where he came from or why.
I was sort of disappointed that I didn’t have anything with polka dots for this week’s challenge. Then it hit me, we saw something very uniquely covered with dots. I found this old bird the Bellagio Giardini, a shop next to the Bellagio Gardens.
Have you ever seen a more elegant bird? Even though she’s new, I think she’s an old bird, but well preserved, don’t you think. Here’s my reasoning. Would a child dress like that? Probably not unless she was royalty and her mother made her. Few young adults could afford her attire. Her haughty expression reminds me of any dowager character in my mom’s collection of romance novels. Her dots and spots will almost blind you. Are you ready for details?

I hope you enjoyed this brief walk down the spotted and dotted Las Vegas Strip. The great thing was that I had fun without spending a dime except on the hotel room and food. The room was highly discounted. The food was not.
