Las Vegas Bellagio Gardens Walk #2
In the Las Vegas Bellagio Gardens Walk #1, looking to your right as you entered the exhibit, you might have tried on Dutch clogs for size if they hadn’t been so full of tulips.
This garden walk fits neatly into several photo challenges, and messily into others. As we weave through the artificial maze created to safely guide world travelers through the Bellagio Gardens, I want you to experience the changes as you would if you were walking by our sides.
As we amble through the display it’s like watching a parade except that you can admire everything at your own speed. Today, I want to point out as much purple as I can so it is dedicated to Cee’s Midweek Madness – Purple as well as Jude’s Life in Colour – Purple on her blog, Travel Words.
Our eyes are drawn to the left side of the path as we enter the display. Here this gigantic hummingbird tries to suck the life out of these purple pansies rising out of a field of spring snapdragons.
The purple pansies actually look like they are made of roses as you will see on closer pictures of other similar displays in a later walk.
I dedicate this butterfly conservatory to Restless Jo’s Monday Walk who points out items of interest rather than narrating a chronological prattle as I tend to do. The field of snapdragons are for Cee’s FOTD where she has posted lupines that have a similar shape to these. It’s also not too late to join with Amy who challenged Lens-Artists participants last Saturday to display photos of gardens. When I get a few minutes in our travels, I will head back over there to visit many of the gardens I’ve misses on other blogs.
Vince grabbed another angle of this display from behind after we exited and reentered in a different place, which you will see more of in a later post.
The conservatory housed hundreds of butterflies the size of real hummingbirds. You couldn’t see them from a distance. When you got closer, I glimpsed something bat-like flitting past the corner of my peripheral vision for just a second before it disappeared into a branch of a bush inside the metal screened building.
I squeezed in as close as I could without tramping through the garden, and enlarged my iPhone to the max to get these next shots. You can see the butterflies if you look carefully.
When you go to the Bellagio Garden, it’s like the visiting the Vatican for the first time. You get dizzy looking up, down, and on every wall. Look up for a second and above the path in this area you can see some of the butterflies that got loose.
I missed CFFC: Real or Fake, but like I have said before, Cee forgives everyone. The purpose of her website is for people to have fun. So I hope you will enjoy these fake purple butterflies as much as the real ones that are harder to see.
Can you read the writing at the top of the window on the right? Do you think that is real or fake sky?
It’s probably not real, don’t you agree? The butterfly is real purple. I’m not sure about the branches. Some of them look like they are dying.
