My good friend, Terri Webster Schrandt opened up the safest topic for her Sunday Stills conversation – weathering memories. This was our first winter in Prescott, but everyone we’ve talked to says it’s the worst year in 25 years.

A “light” January blizzard excited us. It was the first I’d seen since I lived in Colorado over thirty-five years ago.

Our March 12th trip to Scottsdale looked more threatening that it was, so we let it go, but we were getting anxious to get back to our Prescott Walks.
On March 16th, we got a dusting of snow. The Ingraos all felt that rain might have been a better choice by that time of year, but it’s hard to hate beautiful.
When May gale warnings kept us inside, and snow spits hit our windshield on May 3, Vince and I booked a quick trip to Oro Valley in the Tucson area to look for possible warm places to go until the weather warmed. The temperature in Oro Valley hit 96 that day and Prescott enjoyed a breezy 80 degrees.

A week later we abandoned 80 degrees in Prescott and drove three and a half hours to Las Vegas to enjoy 80 degree temperatures there too. The COVID conditions are a little more stringent in Vegas, and we decided that we could continue to weather the cold Prescott winters and springs and travel occasionally – rather than to winter In Las Vegas.
Next we will check out the weather in sunny Woodlake, California. I’m hoping the roses with still be in their peak blooming mode.
