#BrightSquares: Bright Blue Cars Come in All Shades

#BrightSquare Day 21

“As usual for a Squares Challenge month I will be sharing squares daily, and I would love it if you did the same. However if daily sounds too daunting, don’t worry. It is fine to join us weekly or even just pop in occasionally with your squares. The frequency of your squares depends on you and also your blog. All I ask is that your image has 4 equal sides, and that it reflects the theme of bright.”

Prescott Car Show #2: Blue Cars

Are Blue Cars Happy or Sad?

Cars can make you blue,
If they work, fine. They don't work,
You can paint them blue.

I guess the owner showed this blue car what he could do to it, if it kept making him blue. In spite of it blotchy color, the car was bright.

The back end of this ocean of a car looks like a map of an island to me. Maybe psychiatrists could use this car as a psychological test of some sort. What do you think?

As we ambled through Gateway Shopping Mall and reached the caution tape that marked the boundaries of the car show, this early 50s Studebaker grabbed my attention. The bullet nose appeared on 611, 728 cars during 1950 and 1951. Only one of them was at the Prescott Car Show.

My brother and I visited the National Studebaker Museum in South Bend, Indiana, on our nostalgic trip back to our home state. The Studebaker production in South Bend, Indiana started with buggies in the 1800s and moved into military transportation during World War I. They had non-military government contracts for vehicles including the postal service. Unfortunately for my home state, they quit production in the South Bend plant in 1963 .

Beyond the scope of this square, this tiny, low truck caught its owner yawning. Admittedly, I thought it was a little dull, but the hubcaps were interesting and bright.

When we arrived at about 10:00 a.m. the sun was bright and I had to take off my coat. This bright Chevy sparkled in the sun that quickly disappeared behind nasty gray clouds. By a little after 12:00 the Ingraos and some of the less courageous cars were on their way down the highway towards home.

A few of them stayed too long.

Stay tuned for a new color tomorrow. What is your favorite color car? Do you like the new murky green and blue that is popular in the 2021 cars?

Update

Today is Writer’s Quotes Wednesday. The topic for today is Nutrition. I need a lot of help writing about that. My favorite food group is chocolate.

The first car I can remember my dad driving was a baby blue Buick of the 1950s. Nice collection, Marsha.

Those Buicks were popular. We had a 1956 Oldsmobile, I think.

there are a lot of car colors I like, but when it is time to buy one, it never factors into the decision…

Oh yes, but it is definitely not the primary decision. Most of it is availability unless you want to order something custom. 🙂

we buy used, and like you said, it is based on what is available…

True that. 🙂 We, meaning Vince, buy both. Depending on style and make more than color.
