Becky B’s Squares: The Bright Light at the End of a Tunnel

BrightSquare Day 4

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; the one who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

John 8:12

Today Christians Celebrate Easter

Virtual Vacation to Vegas #2

Like emerging from the dark into light, from death into life, during the season of Lent in which some Christians believe that they must give up something for six weeks prior to Easter. Easter morning, then is the day of celebrating that Christ rose from the dead. It is a time to feast and be happy. Jesus came out of the tomb to walk with believers for 50 days until he ascended back to heaven.

“The purpose of Lent is the preparation of the believer for Easter through prayer, mortifying the flesh, repentance of sins, almsgiving, simple living and self-denial.”

In a more secular celebration, we hide Easter eggs in plain sight for the little ones rather than than in a tunnel. Those who find eggs in the tunnel, don’t stay in the tunnel, but bring them into the light to enjoy them.

If you haven’t heard of Becky’s Square Challenges, she runs them every three months. To join, follow the links. BrightSquare Day 4

“As usual for a Squares Challenge month I will be sharing squares daily, and I would love it if you did the same. However if daily sounds too daunting, don’t worry. It is fine to join us weekly or even just pop in occasionally with your squares. The frequency of your squares depends on you and also your blog. All I ask is that your image has 4 equal sides, and that it reflects the theme of bright.”

  1. Beautiful post and photo. My SIL got married at the Valley of Fire. It is an incredible place. I want to go back and hike there. We had a small hike where the wedding took place, but we were in our “going to church” clothes. I want to really hike that place! 🙂

Hi, I'm Marsha Ingrao, a retired educator and wife of a retired realtor. My all-consuming hobby is blogging and it has changed my life. My friends live all over the world. In November 2020, we sold everything and retired to the mile-high desert of Prescott, AZ. We live less than five miles from the Granite Dells, four lakes, and hundreds of trails with our dog, Kalev, and two cats, Moji and Nutter Butter. Vince's sister came with us and lives close by. Every day is a new adventure.
