Cee Neuner posts a Flower of the Day Challenge. I have enough flower pictures in my archives to post every day for about three years, but I’ve never posted every day for an extended period of time, and seldom more than once a day. Since I have other projects in the works, I’m in a quandary.

 FOTD tulips from Longwood Gardens

April is coming up and Becky B’s Bright Squares are coming up in two days.

So here’s my question, how do you feel about posting more than one post per day?

  1. Beautiful tulips Marsha!
I post 3 times a week and that is the most I can keep up with. I will only like 1 or 2 posts for someone who posts all of the time with a time crunch. Too much to keep up!

    1. I agree, it’s too much for me. I’m trying to get through all the participants of all the photo challenges I linked to in my post today. I think I visited 41 and have 56 to go. That was two day’s worth. That’s a lot to bite off, but I couldn’t do it if I posted every day. So I hear you. Even so, I will visit soon because I think of you often and miss it when I don’t! 🙂 Have a lovely rest of the week. 🙂

      1. I know and that’s just from your contests and now you see why I don’t do them.. I’d love to though. No pressure but I always love seeing you when you have time. xoxoxo 💖💖💖

        1. I don’t normally try to visit everyone who participates, but I wanted to challenge myself and support the hosts as well. Everyone works hard at creating a community, everyone in their own way. For now, this works for me, but when it doesn’t I will do something else. The good news for me is that I have been an active blogger and an inactive one. The people who have been my true friends have remained friends over the past nine years. There’s a lot of encouragement in that, don’t you think?

          1. I know it’s tough and important to me to do the same as well. I think it’s so awesome and I love meeting your followers through your work which is so lovely. It’s awesome what you’re created. I miss the ones that drop off and always am sending them love through the eithers. It’s a special relationship to have friends for that long for sure!💖

  2. I like to post every day. Sometimes 2 or 3 posts per day. They are mostly shorts, but of course I have my long posts on Friday for Bird Weekly and the roundup. Both of those take me a couple hours or more to complete. My stats go up exponentially when I post more than one per day. It is because I have so many interests that I can’t hone in on one thing. If I ever have to get a job again away from home, my blogging will go down to a few a week again. I won’t be happy with that. 🙂

    1. It is fun to blog. When the weather gets super nice and we are out more often. I’ll probably blog less. But I blog in the night, too.

  3. I don’t think I would ever post more than once a day as I tend towards posts with a fair amount of content, not just a single photo with a caption. So I’ve deliberately not engaged with FOTD other than admiring some of the photos posted by bloggers I follow. I sometimes feel my own average of one most days is too much so I’m reassured that most of the people commenting here seem to aim for that. I have a feeling when the world reopens a bit and I can do more (visit galleries / eat out / travel) my own blogging rate will drop, maybe to only a few each week. Let’s see!

    1. You do have a lot of interesting and meaningful content. Mine can be depending on what I’m trying to accomplish with the post. I haven’t done many quick posts, but I’m planning to participate in Becky B’s squares for the first time in April (as a regular thing) I interviewed her, and I like to support the ones I interview. It is easier for me than with the writing challenges, which are not my comfortable style. I’m more of a journalist, teacher, and poet. Short stories take more time. 🙂

  4. I have never posted that often. Twice a week is usually enough for me. I often unfollow bloggers who post more often than that as it clogs up my inbox and I don’t have time to read that many posts by one person.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Yikes! don’t unfollow me! If I do it’s just Becky’s squares for a month. But I might rethink it and combine several.

      Liked by 1 person

      1. That’s just me, Marsha. Sometimes I unfollow. Sometimes I have a quick look and read the posts that interest me. Other times I just ignore them until something pops out. You, I’d never unfollow, but I may not read all your posts. I’ll be selective. I hope you don’t mind. 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

        1. I don’t mind. I can’t read all of everyone’s posts. You and I have a relationship that transcends daily commenting. Once you speak on the phone and email , and in some cases, our blogging friends move into a higher level. which doesn’t preclude daily comments, but doesn’t depend on them to keep the friendship going. However, if a close friend like you are unfollowed me, I would worry that I had done something terribly wrong when in fact it might be a glitch.

          1. If I unfollow you, Marsha, it’s definitely a glitch. Our friendship transcends temporary silences. 🙂

          2. Agreed. It’s way more important that a million posts! 🙂

  5. I think anyone who does more than 1 post a day is amazing – as a reader though i find it is a challenge to read every post of every blogger i follow even when they only post every few days, so it does mean I sometimes I can miss out on multiple posts by someone. Makes me sad when I can’t keep up, but I have to be realistic about what I can read

    Liked by 1 person

    1. That’s true for me too. I have set a goal to read all the posts by all the people who participated in the photo challenges that I participated in with my quote challenge. I got through 26 today so far. I like what it does for the community, but, like you say, it’s hard to keep up. I was thinking of doing your post every day for April, but it sounds like you advise against that. 🙂

      1. Glad not just me!!

Ahhh only as a host I say be cautious. So go for daily April, remember as a participant you don’t have to visit everyone else every day just post your square!!!

        1. And yet you will be reading everyone’s post, Becky. You’re going to have a busy month. I’ve heard lots of buzz about people getting their posts ready. Happy Thursday tomorrow and Have a beautiful and bright Easter.

  7. Irene’s right! Do what works for you. Posting daily runs me ragged, especially on a challenge as popular as Becky’s. I feel I have to visit everyone and there’s no time left for just living. 🙂 🙂 Nice tulips!

    1. I have one picture ready per day and not many words. I can schedule them. I can’t get every one visited, though.

I sometimes find it hard to keep up with bloggers who post just once a day; posting more than once makes it even more difficult…

      1. for some of the people I follow who make more than one post a day, I just pick one of them to read and comment on…

        1. You can’t read everything everyone writes. But you get several people , or maybe only one where you commit to read everything or a lot of posts. I do that when I interview people. I delve deeply into their blog and get to know them. But I don’t do that with everyone. I can’t. 🙂

          Liked by 1 person

          1. I agree; there just is not enough time in the day to read all the blogs you would like to. So you have to make some choices…

          2. That you do. Also people tend to go in spurts. You read for a while, then you both drop off for a while. It takes work just like with any other relationship. 🙂 and I get up with comment boxes and then don’t go back and visit for a while.

  9. Beautiful tulips, Marsha. I try to post at least once a day but occasionally post twice and sometimes miss a day completely. I think the most important thing is to keep the fun in blogging. Decide what is comfortable for you, post consistently, and enjoy the interaction.
