Terri Webster Schrandt says, “Sunday Stills is going green today.”
Jude said, “Hey, that’s my color this month!” Only she spells it “colour” because she’s from the UK.
Cee loves green because she has a challenge every day called Flower of the Day Challenge. Can you imagine a flower without green? And Cee will even let her friends (that’s all of us) post pictures of leaves!

“By the way, most of the light that comes from the sun is green.”
Bill Nye
Now you know why green is such a prominent and much loved color.

This was a colorful Farmer’s Market in Seattle.
“Nature in her green, tranquil woods heals and soothes all afflictions.”
John Muir
John Muir spent much time in the Sequoia National Park among the big trees and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Only forty minutes from the park, the Elderwood, CA area is famous for its gorgeous views of the foothills and the peaks of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Even though the Arizona mountains are equally gorgeous, I miss this peaceful view from my front porch.
“Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises.”
Pedro Calderon de la Barca
My neighbor , her daughter, mother-in-law, and I spent a week in Orlando Florida enjoying the spring break in 2018. Animal Kingdom offered this amazing sight of a tiger behind a glass wall. The next picture shows a tree with some thick tangled roots and an incredibly blue Floridian sky.

Of course, one of the most popular clothing colors, too. I loved the springy color of Helen’s shirt. She was a district administrator of a small rural district near Visalia. After she retired she threw herself into her creative side and started teaching classes on egg dying and box making. We participants pitched in and all brought something to eat so that our art session included a fine luncheon with wine.

Helen and I did part of our master’s degree together at Fresno Pacific University. What a talented, interesting and super-intelligent woman! Trust me, those boxes are precise with little work on our parts!
And I almost forgot, then couldn’t find (ouch) my pictures of Vince’s pet Nova from a few years back. And my, much-adored green Prius. Vince and I have this conflict about cars. He loves fast and sporty and I love economical. The better gas mileage, the better I love it. And we both love classics.

Marsha, such a great post. I would love at times to get involved with challenges yet my life which is full to the brim, shows me I just wing things when I step into my play time with my camera. What comes, comes. My fav picture is of Helen and her green shirt. Got me to thinking perhaps it is time for me to start taking pictures of people. Thank you.

It is. You could make a fortune with your talent in portrait photography.

Oh have you got me thinking. I take spontaneous shots. And the little I’ve done I’ve been able to capture some very unique moments. Its amazing!

There are fewer people with that kind of talent, Amy. You are unique. I am super bad with that kind of picture.

Hi, Marsha – This is a brilliant and diverse selection of green. Like Priorhouse, Helen’s shirt really stood out for me. Thank you for taking up the #SundayStills hosting for the next two weeks. I have chatted with Terri and will publish my #Emerge post next Sunday as I used that theme for a photography class that just finished. Posting on my blog (by the end of March) was the form of publication that I chose for this course. I will label that post as a Coming Attraction to the April 11 SS theme. Hopefully this is okay with you. I don’t have a cat so s/he won’t be offended! 😀

Great pictures, Marsha. I have not seen broccoli that looks like that before. It’s much prettier than ours.

I found it at Pike’s Place Farmer’s Market in downtown Seattle. I don’t remember seeing it anywhere else, Robbie. 🙂

Darn it – isn’t it annoying when you can’t find that one picture you want! We all have so many pictures in all our files and then one is illusive – the one we really want! Oh well I still enjoyed your green!

Thanks, Bernie. I’m getting through my thousands of pictures that don’t have a name slowly but surely. It’s making it easier to find.

Thanks Susanne. I thought so too, when I saw it. The display of vegetables there was amazing. It was right on the pier. Fabulous place. Pike Place Market in Downtown Seattle. If you get up that far and have never been, it’s worth a visit. 🙂

I was born and raised in Seattle, and still live in the area. I worked downtown for many years and love the Pike Place Market! 😊😊

Another lovely green collection – yours is the second green post I’ve read this morning. And it’s “colour” from me too. 🙂

Yes, I know that, Miss Australia! 🙂 We here in the U.S. are the only ones it seems who don’t use superfluous letters in our words. 🙂 What about in Canada? I imagine they spell it colour too., don’t they? I wonder why we stopped in the U.S.? Were we just being rebellious?

From what I’ve read that was definitely partly the reason. 😃 I found this information too, mainly differences in dictionary development. https://www.dictionary.com/e/aluminum-or-aluminium/

That doesn’t surprise me. We are such rebels. Interesting article, though. We watched a Netflix movie, almost a documentary, about the writing of the Oxford Dictionary. It makes you realized what an overwhelming job it was to write a dictionary and how many words had to be checked against usage in literature. The professors couldn’t do all the work but employed volunteers to do a lot of their checking for them. One of them was a mentally ill prisoner who was brilliant and a wordophile. Made for a great movie. The Professor and the Madman. If you haven’t seen it, I think you’d really enjoy it. 🙂

We watched it a few weeks ago. Fascinating but also sad.

I don’t have a single piece of clothing that is green but I love the color in nature. That broccoli looks gorgeous… does it taste different from regular broccoli?
LikeLiked by 2 people
I haven’t had it. LOL It probably does taste slightly different. It would sure look pretty on a plate, wouldn’t it? I don’t think I have anything green to wear either, Janis. My husband wears kind of a pickle or sage green mostly to match his eyes. My eyes are blue, so guess what I wear?

I loved this colour challenge (see what I did there? I’m from Australia so it’s *colour* from me too). The colour of that romanesco broccoli is a fave – so bright.

Isn’t that something else? I should have bought some but I had no place to cook it and you couldn’t take it into California. Thanks for the comment, Jo. It was colourful! 🙂

Does the Romanesk broccoli taste different than regular, Marsha? 🙂 🙂 I like a nice slide show, but I’m told you can’t view them on a phone? Bummer!

Actually, I don’t know. I was in Seattle at a meeting with no place to cook, and we can’t bring any kind of plant into California. I’ve never tried it here. I haven’t even seen it! 🙂 I saw some seeds online. I’m sorry about the slideshow not showing on the phone. I wonder if that’s my problem with set-up.

No, no- not a criticism! Something I’ve heard from others here on WP but I am using my laptop and can see it perfectly, thanks 🙂 🙂

Jo, you don’t have a critical bone in your body. I just meant there might be an adjustment I need to make. When I had a self-hosted blog we had to adjust for everything. I think WordPress does everything for us, but I’m not sure. 🙂

Butting into your conversation (sorry!) to say that Romanesco is more akin to cauliflower than broccoli, and very good 🙂

LOL, this is never butting in, it’s friends chatting! I love it. Thanks for the information, Sarah.

My top two photos are Helen’s shirt (the mood of that capture is artsy and the monet you gave us shows life in action and her beauty in profile – and do like that green tone as well) – and then the car! Vince has good taste and I love that style of car. In the 1980s – a lot of guy friends had those cars – they were cheap and little did we know how collectible they would become 🙂

I know! My first husband had a car similar to that when I married him in the seventies – a Super Bee. Remember those? It was yellow with a black stripe. I loved it, but it was a lemon of a car. Vince won one pretty impressive award with his green Nova from Chip Foose, and won a huge tool kit as well. Best car show ever. I should have used the picture of him with Chip Foose. Thanks for commenting, Yvette. I’ve wondered where you’ve been. Did you get my email?
