One of the most encouraging and supportive bloggers in the universe shares in 99 words what she never dreamed blogging would do for her. She wrote the words right out from under me. This week at the Carrot Ranch, Charli Mills challenged writers to In 99 words (no more, no less), write a story about something a character never dreamed would happen. The situation can be fortuitous, funny, or disappointing. Go where the prompt leads!
When I began my blogging journey in 2013, I never dreamed that I would:
- continue writing two or more posts a week for more than seven years
- participate in weekly flash fiction prompts at the Carrot Ranch year after year
- meet so many fascinating people from nearly every continent with varied backgrounds and interests
- make so many wonderful friends in the blogosphere whose encouragement and support is constant (thank you)
- become addicted to the conversations that occur on my blog and theirs
- enter into a rodeo contest, a writing one at that, and receive honourable mentions for my efforts.

I whole-heartedly agree with your introduction about Norah. Always a kind word for everyone. I love reading from seasoned bloggers and their whys and hows. For me, anything past 2 years is a seasoned blogger. I was initially surprised about the supportive community. Now it is a highlight for me. I glanced over these entries and I will bookmark post to reread. Congratulations, Norah on your efforts and honourable mentions. You are inspirational. Thank you, Marsha, for sharing this post. As you say, fun to read.

I still find it interesting how we all find each other, Marsha. I am beginning to read and catch up with our community. We had a flood in our family room and a few other recent challenges. Part of life. Hugs to you and your loved ones this season 💕

More of a nuisance especially with the increased restrictions. Masked strangers in our home almost every day. Glad things are moving forward. I am still very grateful. People have many more challenges right now.

Our clean up people were very careful. It was a mess having our furniture strewn around the house. It is not an unbearable situation, but it adds to the frustration that you already have. Will they be done by Christmas?

I was not aware of your flood, Marsha. We are dealing with a pipe in the wall beside a bathroom as part of our family room. Aside from the water, dealing with linoleum, carpet, drywall and so on for the past 3 weeks. Will go into January. Nice people working here and it could have been worse. Just a nuisance, especially during virus and Christmas. We have been lucky all of these years.

The restrictions here are spending time with only the people in our house. Therefore, just my husband and I. Zoom with the children. Still count our blessings.

It sounds like you will stay safe, then, which is good. I hope we can all get the vaccine soon. We were more restricted in CA than we are here, but we still have seen our son one time since last Christmas.

Quickly is a subjective word. At the time, it seemed to last forever, but now it is just a blip in the past. Service Master people did a great job. They were very professional and intruded as little as possible. 🙂
