on the river

This is a post from my friend Carol Sherritt so you know where I’m going. On Dec 26, 2016, I fly from LAX to Brisbane. The day after I land, we fly to Melbourne to see our other blogging friend, Leanne Cole. Carol is a teacher like I was, and a professional traveler. Leanne is a professional photographer, and I have much to learn!

I’m so excited, but I want to say thanks to my husband, Vince. He hates to travel. He obliges me sometimes. But three weeks is a long time. And Australia is a long, long trip from California. He did not want to abandon his home and his dog for three weeks. I appreciate him on so many levels.

He provides me a beautiful, well-maintained home, then allows me to jet off by myself leaving him to fend for himself. For me, this trip is an adventure of a lifetime to visit blogging friends from FAR away. But I would not have the freedom to travel if he did not appreciate my need for freedom to see the world.

Thank you so much, sweet husband.

Vince is very special. You’ll have lots to tell him. Maybe next time he will come too.
