We, V, C, M and I, just got back from a wonderful vacation in Kauai, HI. Manny’s favorite place in all of Kauai was a famous restaurant in the little town of Waimea called The Grove Cafe. Yelp gave The Gove Cafe three star rating, and told us how to get there, but Manny gave it 6 stars and a few planets. You know when you see tour busses, that it must be a good place to eat.

Manny loved The Grove Cafe for many reasons.
- First of all everyone was very friendly and helpful and Manny got to drive a cart.
- He got to explore an outdoor brick oven.
- He got to order from the menu like a grown-up bear.
- The waitress smiled at him a lot, and told us that he cold play outside when we finished eating.
- It had a big room for dancing with Ute, only she wasn’t there.
- The food was amazing. Vince had a shrimp appetizer. Cindy had minestrone soup and salad, and Marsha and Vince shared catch of the day with sweet potato fries.
- There were no windows, just ledges so the ocean breezes ruffled his fur.
- It was so fun to play outside after we all ate.
- There was a huge banyan tree in the back yard.
You can play this song as you watch Manny in this slide show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlYUsZFTaWo
The weather in the Garden Isle of Kauai at the end of May couldn’t have been better. A few sprinkles were all that fell on us the entire week.
BTW We are going to have a week or two that we will rent at either Maui or Kauai. If you are interested in taking a trip to Hawaii, and are interested in renting our timeshare, please contact me by email: tchistorygal@gmail.com

Yes!!! It was a beautiful place to enjoy a few hours. Nobody hurried us away, and we spent quite a while on the grounds.

Hi Manny,
I hope you thanked Mom for taking you on holiday where you had a wonderful adventure. Did you also thank her for the hours she took preparing the wonderful slideshow so that people from all over the world can see you in action. You were very brave climbing all the way to the top of that drift wood. I could never do that. Welcome home Manny. Love Uncle Ralph …. big kiss ❤

Sorry, Ralph. He’s moved on. Now he wants to go for a ride with Ute in her convertible. He’s such a spoiled little boy! He’s watching over my shoulder as I type this, and he’s giving me the eye. His dad thinks he should have his own website, but you know how much work it is to keep up two sites! 🙂 xoxox

How I wished I had been there with you Manny, I always wanted to go to Kauai! ( my sister was there once, for me it is a dream!) Manny is so fortunate to see such wonderful places. It looks so beautiful, such wonderful vegetation and huge trees. I guess I would have got stuck in a crack too… in a bigger one though… 🙂
So Manny watch out for one of my next posts, I have news for you, I hope you will like it! …just arrived today .. so I need a bit of time… I won’t say more for now! ♥

Looks like Manny had a great time there. I remember just how hard that wind can blow in Hawaii. Not good for my hair at all. 🙂

I went to Hawaii on my first honeymoon – Waikiki. I loved it except for how expensive it was. We went late September, early October & although there was rain every day, it was just a quick shower most of the time & lots of rainbows.

We didn’t get much rain on this visit. A few sprinkles during parts of the day did nothing to dampen our spirits. 🙂

Kauai “The Garden Isle”,If I remember correctly it is the only island with a navigable river. IT is a pretty island. I bet things changed a lot since I was there. Didn’t a hurricane destroy part of the island. You can’t go wrong taking a vacation on the islands. Hope y’all had a good time

We had a great time, Jim. Yes, a hurricane destroyed part of it in the 70s. Last year they had to start major renovations because of water damage from that hurricane so many years ago.

You would really love it. We had a great time – especially Manny, as you can see by his expression! He loved being the star of the show! Cindy and Vince – not so much. They kept saying, “Don’t take my picture!” I said the same thing to Vince. The difference is that I get to choose which pictures go into the blog! 🙂 Such control! 🙂

How exciting – a trip to Hawaii! I’m green with envy. I see Manny had a blast. I am an obedient blogger, and I played your recommended song while I looked at all of his pictures. Letting him get into that banyan tree was pretty funny. Fun post, Marsha!
