1. Does the wind machine generate power as well?

   • Not that I know of. It’s function is to keep the oranges from freezing.

2. I remember many years ago when the orange harvest froze in California. And the prices went up sk yhigh over in Eroupe. Interesting “mill” that look after the oranges best interest. Like you little bunny … here.

       • Here is what you post into a text widget if you want the rabbit.

         If you want something else copy the url of the picture or animation and put it between the quotation marks. It works like a charm. Even adding things to a comment. You have to be in edit mode on your dashboard, not in this screen, but then you can add it. 🙂

4. That’s a HUGE fan, Marsha. Does it blow one’s hair around? If it does, I’m not a fan of it. 🙂

   • No, it’s a hairless fan. Nobody with any hair uncovered would go near it when it’s blowing because it’s also 20 degrees and night time. They never run during the day because the temperature doesn’t stay that low in the day time here. So, Sylvia, our hair is safe with that fan!!! hahahah 🙂

6. Wow…. that is really interesting. I’ve never seen such a “fan”. Are there many placed throughout the field? didn’t they used to use ‘smudge pots’ or something like that? This seems MUCH cleaner!

   • Yes, yes, and yes! I should have posted more of the pictures I took. I debated about putting in a slideshow just to put them in without talking about them. But I thought that picture was so great it deserved to be by itself. I’ll do another article tomorrow. Thanks for the comment, Kathy. 🙂 xox

7. I forget where you are … is this Wind Machine to help prevent frost forming on the crops?

   • Yes. I’m in the Central Valley of California. We sometimes get below freezing, and if it stays in the low 30s high 20s for too long the crop is ruined. If it goes lower than that, the trees are ruined. 🙂
