You’re Invited to Renee’s Online Birthday Party

Featured Blog

Who’s Renee?   I started following Renee and her mom’s blog 6 month’s and 2 weeks ago, making her the 8th blog I followed.  I followed her because she gave me one of my first awards before I even knew what an award was.  Little did I know that this expert blogger  was a mere 16 years old.  Over the months I have gotten to know Renee a bit better, and found out that her birthday is on Christmas.  How hard is that???  Since she lives in New Zealand, and I live in California, the likelihood of us ever meeting to have an actual birthday party, I thought, “Why not try to have a party online?”

PG sniffing around for an invite

So please join me in my blog-party experiment.  I’ll host the party starting on Christmas Eve, which I think is Christmas Day in New Zealand. and continue to have that as my only post through Christmas Day.  Come and wish Renee a happy birthday with me.  To visit her and get acquainted ahead of time click here.  That will get you started.  From there you can go to her second blog The Odd One Out.   Keep in mind that she’s only 16.  I know you will be as blown away as I am by her many interests and talent.

    • awww thanks! I think I’m a little opaque myself. I can be quite a pill, but I do like to have fun!!! What does it take to be a lovely person? I think you fit the bill. Marsha 🙂

      • You are so welcome. You are welcome to reblog the invitation, as can all your friends who have blogs. It’s going to be a two day event. So bring a sleeping bag! Since it’s summer you might need some insect repellent. Be sure to bring a treat for Kalev. She’s so jealous when someone else gets all the attention. 🙂

    • You are welcome. You are famous now. Online Interview Time

Renee, you’re going to be 17 on Christmas Day, and you’ve been so busy this past year with your school, music, and horses, and photography. Did you have any obstacles have you had to overcome that you thought would hold you back, but you got through them?

Anything else you’d like to share with the folks in my Blogger Community?

      • The thing I had to over come this year would have to be my depression, it had effected much of my school work and I was a bit grouchy to my friends and now I feel bad. But it’s okay now because I’m finally over it and my friends were there for me during, and after it and I thank them very much for helping me through!

I love meteorology! I was asked a couple of months ago by one of the members of the school senior band if I would like to be the lead guitarist for the band next year, and I was just like, omg did she just ask me that?! Yes!!! Lol 🙂

  1. Most of the last 10 years I’ve had to travel on my birthday for work, and I’ve been alone. My husband threw me a surprise birthday party last year, and I giggled about it for days. For my 40th I was at a reading conference, and the teachers that were there took me out, and had a little surprise for me at the restaurant.

The party my co-workers gave me when I was 33 was not a surprise. I had invited everybody on campus (I worked in college) because giving parties was a tradition, and I was so excited that I was going to get one. My friends kept telling me they weren’t going to give me one. They were breaking tradition, and there would be no cake and ice cream in the lounge for me. On the day of, Anna marched in with a plate of SuzyQues piled so high I thought they’d fall over. “See I told you we weren’t going to bake you a cake.” Immediately after that one of the professors came in to wish me happy birthday, and escorted me to the lounge where everyone was waiting – with my cake. One of the other professors called out, “Cut me a big piece off the corner with lots of icing.” I should have been leery – he never ate sweets. I cut into my beautifully decorated cake. iI was cardboard!!! We all had a great laugh. Then yes, they brought out a real cake.

Birthday parties are so fun!!! I’ll never forget them, nor the people who cared enough to come. Parties are the wonderful thing about getting a year older. Our friends come and show us how happy they are that we were born. Even more fun than having a party is giving one. I don’t have any children of my own, nor did my brother, so I never actually planned a kid’s birthday party before. I’m having so much fun planning things I think Renee will like, and things that I think the rest of you will enjoy doing. Feel free to reblog the post so that your friends hear about it, too. Help make this one of Renee’s most memorable Christmas Day birthdays.

What was your favorite birthday party? 🙂 Marsha Lee

Hi, I'm Marsha Ingrao, a retired educator and wife of a retired realtor. My all-consuming hobby is blogging and it has changed my life. My friends live all over the world. In November 2020, we sold everything and retired to the mile-high desert of Prescott, AZ. We live less than five miles from the Granite Dells, four lakes, and hundreds of trails with our dog, Kalev, and two cats, Moji and Nutter Butter. Vince's sister came with us and lives close by. Every day is a new adventure.
