The Neighborhood Morgan Car

One of our neighbors restores old cars.  I thought you might enjoy seeing this one because it is so different. Morgan Motor Company is an English company which is still run by a family member after 102 years, and employes 163 people.  People have waited from 1 to 10 years to buy a new Morgan because they only make a few hundred every year.A hundred years ago it started out as a three-wheeled car, and the newest “hot” Morgans are again three-wheeled.  This one is from the early 60s.Notice that this car steers from the left hand side.  In the fifties and sixties 85% of their output came to the United States.   Unlike most cars, the Morgan has a wood frame.   So I guess if you wreck the car it will splinter instead of bend.  My best advice – Don’t drive this car on a real road!!!The cover unzips half-way so that the driver can sit there, but the rest remains covered.  I thought that was so cool.  The top looks really sharp. The wheels look sharp, too.  My husband has taught me that anything that is aluminum and shiny is NOT COOL.  So now I am an expert on the “hot” look, which is really cool. And in my expert opinion, the wheels are approved as awesome.OK, the entire car looks truly splendid. I think I would look good driving this car.  However, Puppy Girl wouldn’t like riding under the canopy, and she would jump out is I left it unzipped.  So maybe I’ll pass.  SIGH!!!

  1. My apologies to my neighbor’s partner who took great offense at my statement, “So I guess if you wreck the car it will splinter instead of bend. My best advice – Don’t drive this car on a real road!!!” He wants to assure everyone that Morgans are driven safely all over the world. It was just my feeble attempt at humor. I love the car!

Hi, I'm Marsha Ingrao, a retired educator and wife of a retired realtor. My all-consuming hobby is blogging and it has changed my life. My friends live all over the world. In November 2020, we sold everything and retired to the mile-high desert of Prescott, AZ. We live less than five miles from the Granite Dells, four lakes, and hundreds of trails with our dog, Kalev, and two cats, Moji and Nutter Butter. Vince's sister came with us and lives close by. Every day is a new adventure.
